Lady Grizzlies blank Johnson
In a week they moved up to No. 3 in the Class AAA state polls, the Creekview Lady Grizzlies wasted little time asserting their dominance against Area 7 rival Johnson-Gainesville.
Taking a pass from sophomore Cori Dulmage, senior Whitley Dover headed in the match’s first score just 49 seconds into the contest, and the route on, as the Lady Grizzlies breezed past the Lady Knights, 5-0, March 8 in Canton.

Dover finished the night with a hat trick, netting three goals to go along with an assist.
Working out of the midfield, junior Sam Logan contributed Creekview’s other two goals, while sophomore Lauren Artise and junior Jordan Arthur each recorded an assist.
With her surrounding defense keeping Johnson at bay most of the night, junior keeper Jessica Estes registered her fourth shutout of the season.
The Grizzlies added a 1-0 win by forfeit over East Hall on March 9 after East Hall discovered it had mistakenly failed to file the necessary paperwork to secure officials for any of its home games this season.
Since dropping its season opener at Etowah, Creekview has won five-straight, improving to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in 7AAA. Over that stretch, the Lady Grizzlies have outscored their opponents 12-0 – plus the 1-0 score for the forfeit.
The Creekview boys (3-2, 2-0) also won by forfeit, 1-0, against East Hall on March 9.

Lady Chiefs route Northwest Whitfield
Out-shooting visiting Northwest Whitfield by 24 shots on the night, the Sequoyah Lady Chiefs cruised to a 7-0 victory in Area 7AAAA action, March 8 in Hickory Flat.
Kristin Clegg led the charge with a hat trick, scoring her first goal on pass from Katelyn Rikel and two more unassisted.
Rachael Vienneau and Heather Sherman added a goal each on
penalty kicks, while Lindsie Teter scored on an assist from Vienneau, and Rikel netted the first goal of the night, unassisted.
The win, which was the second shutout of the season for Sequoyah keeper Colby LaFever (two saves), improved the Lady Chiefs to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in area play.

Woodstock sweeps Kennesaw Mountain
Sophomore keeper Jake Bowler made six saves and junior captain Jose Montero recorded a goal and an assist, as the Woodstock boys started off a varsity double-bill with a 3-1 victory visiting Kennesaw Mountain, March 9 in Woodstock.
Adding to the Wolverines’ (2-3, 1-1 Area 5AAAAA) success, Matt Leach and Alex Sholfield had a goal apiece.
Following the boys’ win, the Lady Wolverines (2-3; 1-1) knocked off KMHS, 5-0.

Pandya score not enough in Warriors’ loss
Dropping to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Area 5AAAAA, the Cherokee Warriors fell to visiting Marietta, 3-1, on March 9.

Opening Area 5AAAAA against Harrison, the Eagles suffered a 2-1 defeat on March 9.
