Eagles repeat as Grizzly golf champions

For the second-straight season, the Etowah boys captured the team title at the Creekview Grizzly Golf Classic, posting a 295, Saturday at the Woodmont Country Club in Canton.

On his way to low medalist honors, junior Anders Albertson carded a 66, and was one of four Eagles to shoot 79 or less, as Etowah finished 10 strokes better than second-place Milton.

The Etowah boys golf team: Trenton Sanders, Zach Forbes, Colin Adams, Jason Hamacher, David Sullivan, Jake Forbes, Adam Cross, Anders Albertson, Corey Hall, Coach Bob Westbrook & Nick Mueller.

Led by an 82 from Ben Stephens, host Creekview shot a 363 to place ninth.

 

In the girls event, which was cut short due to darkness, Creekview senior Jerrah Baker finished as the individual runner-up behind Ola’s Haley Austin.

Ola claimed the girls team title, followed by Creekview and Etowah, respectively.

Complimenting Albertson’s showing, David Sullivan carded a 75, while Corey Hall shot a 76 and Colin Adams posted a 78 to round out Etowah’s scoring. Just off the scorecard, Zach Forbes shot a 79.

For the Creekview boys, Jared O’Kelley had an 88 and Tyler Griffin shot a 93.
