Grizzlies open 10-0 before Knights trip up rival in eight

A lethal combination of pitching and offense continued for Creekview last week, as the Grizzlies outscored rival River Ridge by 15 runs over a two-game stretch to start their season 10-0, before being up-ended by the Knights in an extra-inning affair in their Region 7AAAAA-North series finale on March 20.

Turning up the pressure on their attack, the Creekview Grizzlies turned a 3-all contest late in the third quarter into an easy victory, scoring seven times over the final 14 minutes of play to defeat rival Cherokee, 10-5, on March 18, at Tommy Baker Field, in Canton.

Sports Registrations & Briefs: Warrior TD Club to host annual golf fundraiser

CHS GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Cherokee Warriors football program will host its annual golf tournament on May 15 at The Fairways of Canton. Players and sponsors are needed for the tournament, which will kick off with a 1 p.m. shotgun start and include a punt-pass-kick-score option. The cost is $100 per golfer and $400 for a foursome. Dinner is included with registration and will follow immediately after play has concluded. Proceeds from the event will benefit Warriors football, and contributions are tax-deductible.
