Canton police arrested a man after investigating a stabbing incident resulting from an argument over who was going to sleep on a hide-a-bed.

Officers responded to a home on Ridgewood Way March 7 just before 6 a.m. regarding a person stabbed. The 20-year-old male victim was transported by Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to recover, said Det. Candy Worthy, public information officer for Canton police.

A female victim also was stabbed when she tried to stop the fight. She was treated for a minor injury, Worthy said.

Bryson Miller, 21, of Canton, allegedly fled the scene and was later located and arrested, Worthy said. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and taken to the Cherokee County jail.

The altercation apparently started over who was sleeping where, Worthy said. The suspect apparently wanted the space on the hide-a-bed couch after the victim already had laid down, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
