Dear Editor,

A  Profile In Courage award should be given to the four members of the Cherokee County Board of Education who had the courage to vote their convictions.

Congratulations should be noted to Erika Neldner for her hard-hitting editorial on the same subject (“Ethics trump politics,” Aug. 17).

The idea that any elected official, be it Board of Education or state senator, would vote to take money from their constituents and send that money out of state boggles the mind, especially since these same politicians are advocating strict fiscal responsibility on the state and federal level. Does hypocrisy  have no limits?
