• A 30-year-old Woodstock man was charged with felony shoplifting after attempting to leave Home Depot with unpaid merchandise. According to the report, officers responded to a shoplifting-in-progress call Jan. 19 and arrived to find Dale Freeman in the custody of the store’s loss prevention officer. The report said Freeman was observed selecting two mailboxes from the store and seen placing smaller items inside the boxes. The amount stolen was $1,591.

Woodstock police are probing a felony-shoplifting incident that occurred Jan. 18 at Walmart. According to the report, officers responded to the store after the loss prevention officer noticed large quantities of DVDs missing from the electronics department. According to the report, the store’s loss prevention officer reviewed surveillance video of a black male suspect concealing more than $500 worth of DVDs on his person. • Deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office BridgeMill Precinct responded to a burglary off Little Deer Run Jan. 17. According to the report, more than $1,000 worth of copper piping had been taken from a foreclosed home. The report said the home has been vacant for roughly a month and the last time it was entered was Jan. 13 between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., when a contractor was winterizing the home. At that time, the copper pipes reportedly were still in the house. The report said the piping was taken from the ceiling of the garage.
