• Sixes United Methodist Church, 8385 Bells Ferry Road, Canton, is hosting a free viewing of the movie, “Courageous,” Saturday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m., in the worship center. It is sponsored by the leadership of the Sixes UMC Celebrate Recovery Team.
• The Messiah Java Jam is held the second Friday of every month, beginning Feb. 17, at Church of the Messiah, 415 Charles Cox Drive, Canton. Each event will feature two musical performers and a musical jam afterward where all musician attendees are invited to share their God-given talents on stage with the performers. The event will begin at 7 p.m. Coffee and tea will be served. At the inaugural event, attendees can enjoy the music of Caspar McCloud and the Ministry of Three, and the Derek McCloud Band. Attendees are asked to donate $5 with all proceeds going toward a different charity each month. This month, the donations will go towards a kitchen for the children in Haiti.

• Every second Saturday of the month, volunteers are invited to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for people in the job assistance program with Papa’s Pantry. The Soul Food Market, located at Yawn’s Books and More on Main Street in downtown Canton, hosts the philantropic gathering at 9 a.m. Volunteers are asked to bring with them, one to two loaves of bread, peanut butter and jelly.
